Shooting Lodge Ironwork
Donkeywell forge was asked to design and create the iron work for a newly built shoot lodge. Consisting of gates, railings, estate fencing, internal fire grates, weathervane and even gutter brackets.
Gates
Basing our iron work on the existing gate design throughout the estate, Donkeywell Forge created multiple gates and a number of railings.
The gates were tenoned and riveted with swellings that were created by punching the bars using traditional forging techniques.
The gates had to be decorative as well and provided security for the property.
Fencing
The classic style estate fencing kept simplistic and stylish and curved to flow with the land on which the shoot lodge was built.
Weathervane
We produced a weathervane in a combination of iron and copper. Hand crafting each of the copper pieces into shape and detailing them to get the desired texture.
Gutter Brackets
The gutter brackets were individully forged to give them a more traditional style and design to compliment the property.
