A long standing client of Donkeywell Forge requested three, three tier ironwork candelabras with over 80 candle holders on each for Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey a converted 18th century wedding venue. Working from the client’s designer’s initial sketches, Donkeywell Forge worked out the best way to achieve a structure that we would be able to physically produce the chandeliers that were in keeping with 18th century barns rustic appearance. Donkeywell Forge used traditional forging and riveting techniques to create the ironwork and finished them to fit in comfortably with the rustic aesthetic of the venue. Once completed we arranged transportation and were there to install our completed work and we fitted each chandelier and fixed real wax, electric candles to achieve the authentic look but with the practicalities of electric candles. The sheer scale of the chandeliers make them the focal point of the barn. The chandeliers were accompanied with a number of free standing chandeliers in the same style.
